Steam Cleaning For Chewing Gum Removal
How steam cleaning can remove chewing gum
It has been estimated that 3.5 billion thoughtlessly discarded pieces of chewing gum litter our walkways. Traditional methods of removal often cause inconvenience to customers and damage to the surface being cleaned. They are also slow and ineffective.
Now with the combination of dry steam and a suitable environmentally friendly cleaning agent, chewing gum can be quickly and completely removed, leaving a damp surface which will evaporate in minutes.
- The gum is heated with steam at a temperature of approximately 175 deg C at steam pressure of at least 6 bar
- The steam is impregnated with a suitable bio-degradable cleaning agent as it is released from the cleaning head
- This removes the stickiness from the gum which is simultaneously dissolved.
The process is suitable for internal flooring, carpets, upholstery and entrance mats. It is equally applicable to external surfaces such as pavements, concrete and natural stone.
Additionally the relevant machine would be available for other tough cleaning tasks which can also be accomplished quickly with the minimum use of chemicals or detergents, saving time and money and safeguarding the environment.
